The Opportunity:

For years, Science classrooms have yearned for an experimental environmental chamber that appropriately fit their curriculum needs. Existing chambers were either too low-budget with not enough functionality or meant for industrial use and were thus exorbitantly expensive. Our solution needed to meet strict price requirements while still satisfying and even improving upon a long list of design and functional requirements.

Solution

Designing from the ground up, we created a new level of environmental chamber that managed to hit all of the functionality sweet spots. Our new chamber could hold several plants at once but was still appropriately sized for a classroom setting. Necessary environmental controls were retained while superfluous ones were eliminated. Lighting was enhanced with multiple illumination stages as well as with a full blackout capability. We further improved the incubation system by directly heating the plant subsoil rather than strictly relying on ambient heat. We achieved all of the design parameters and price targets while delivering exceptional value to the customer.
