The Opportunity:

Buses have incorporated a wide array of electronics over the years to assist drivers with tasks like attendance tracking and route planning. Our customer provides devices capable of performing these tasks but they were discovering that a bus’s 12V supply is particularly dirty on startup. Sensitive electronics were resetting or shutting off completely as the bus turned over and it was becoming a major nuisance for drivers to check and make sure that their equipment was still running and taking data every time they started their bus.

Solution

Just as important to satisfying the power requirements set forth by our customer was to ensure that the voltage booster could reliably handle its working environment. Busses can be any manner of extremely hot or cold and always have plenty of vibration to contend with. Our solution was built to be resilient to whatever environmental effects it would encounter in a school bus setting while being reliable yet unobtrusive as it provided power to delicate electronics in a variety of busses.
